Navigation systems make driving and navigating at the same time both simple and straightforward.
Typical features of in dash navigation systems include:
- Turn-by-turn directions
- Visual and voice prompting
- Automatic rerouting (for when you make a wrong turn or miss a turn)
- Point-of-interest mapping to help you find area gas stations, ATMs, restaurants, shops, and attractions
Most car audio shops offer both installed and portable navigation systems, but check the NCDS for details. Some shops even offer car GPS systems that are integrated into the rearview mirror.
Custom installation is generally an important point with car GPS systems, although typically in dash navigation systems are all made to look OEM-look or factory and not exotic. Essentially the concern is that the new screen display is installed in a professional, sleek manner so that it blends with the rest of the dash.
